Finding and exporting historical PACE data

Learn where PACE stores historical CSV data, how timestamps are handled and what to check when records appear incomplete.

How PACE stores historical data

PACE automatically logs configured parameters in CSV format on the local Weather Monitoring System computer.

A standard installation normally stores these files in the following folder structure:

C:\ProgramData\Muir Matheson\Data\CSV\YYYY\MM\DD\

The final folders represent the year, month and day of the recorded data.

Installation-specific differences may exist. Contact WISE Group support if this folder is not present or if your system uses a different configuration.

Logging interval

PACE normally records one value per minute for each configured parameter. A complete 24-hour period therefore contains up to 1,440 logged values per parameter.

The actual contents depend on the system configuration, sensor availability and whether PACE remained operational throughout the period.

Temporary communication faults, invalid sensor readings, computer restarts or loss of power may result in gaps.

Timestamps and time zones

PACE Weather Monitoring System computers are normally configured to use GMT/UTC with automatic daylight-saving changes disabled.

This provides consistent timestamps throughout the year and avoids duplicate or missing times when clocks change.

Before comparing PACE data with information from another system, confirm which time zone each source uses.

Exporting data

CSV files can be opened using Microsoft Excel or imported into other engineering and analysis applications.

When exporting data:

  1. Identify the required date range.
  2. Copy the relevant CSV files rather than editing the originals.
  3. Store the exported copies in an approved project or customer location.
  4. Follow the installation’s cybersecurity and removable-media procedures.
  5. Confirm the applicable time zone before beginning the analysis.

Do not connect an unauthorised USB device or other removable storage to an operational PACE computer.

If historical data is missing

Check whether:

  • The correct date folder has been selected
  • The requested parameter was configured for logging
  • PACE was operating during the period
  • The connected sensor was producing valid data
  • The computer clock and date were correct
  • There is sufficient storage space on the computer

Do not change the logging or parameter configuration on an operational system without consulting WISE Group support.

Requesting support

If data cannot be found or appears incomplete, submit a support ticket containing:

  • Installation name
  • Required date and time range
  • Parameter names
  • A screenshot or sample of the available files
  • Details of any known outage or computer restart
  • PACE version, if known

WISE Group can help determine whether the data was logged, whether the correct files have been located and whether further system investigation is required.
